Amber Harley- Smith was born in Lapeer, Michigan on April 7th, 1986. From a very early age she had a huge adoration for the film industry, and on the day she turned 16 began working at the local movie theater where she spent most weekends of her high school (a 2004 Lapeer East graduate) career, and continued to work there through her first two years of college. Smith also worked for Blockbuster Video and the movie theater at the same time. She decided to leave both and pursue the Motion Picture Institute of Michigan in 2008. From there she was picked to be the script supervisor on The Rain Chronicles (2009).
