Financing

We have several options to help you meet the tuition requirements for our hands-on acting programs.

Standard Tuition Payment

Tuition for The Motion Picture Production Program is $14,000.
Tuition for The Motion Picture Actors' Program is $5,350.
 
A refundable commitment deposit of $1,000 for the film program or $350 for the acting program are due upon signing the student enrollment agreement.  The deposits are deducted from the program tuition and secures the student's seat in the program.

Checks/Credit Cards/Money Orders

Motion Picture Institute accepts all major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.  Checks or money orders should be made payable to Motion Picture Institute. Note: All credit card payments are subject to a 2.5% transaction fee.

In-House Payment Plan Options

Motion Picture Institute offers payment plans up to 24 months for The Motion Picture Production Program.  Up to 12 months for The Motion Picture Actors' Program.  Payment Plan Application and Payment Options Worksheet please contact us at: 248-528-1760 or payments@mpifilm.com.
 
If approved Motion Picture Institute will draft a monthly payment plan based on the number of months selected that best fits the student's plan. All plans are subject to finance charges. Applicants with low credit ratings will be required to have a co-signor. All plans require at least a down payment (in addition to the commitment deposit) prior to the start of the classes.

Scholarships

Motion Picture Institute is an approved school under the Michigan Merit scholarship program for high school seniors.

Motion Picture Institute awards a $14,000 scholarship to a selected Best of Show winner at the DAFT Michigan Student Film Festival.  Other Merit scholarships are available throughout the year for high school seniors.

FAFSA

Motion Picture Institute is NOT eligible for Title IV funding or Federal student aid from the US Department of Education. As a result, we do not have a school code for the FAFSA.

GI Bill/Department of Veteran Affairs

We are recognized by the Department of Veteran Affairs and are eligible to accept GI Bill and VRAP funding.
