THE
RAIN
MPI Feature Lab 2007-2008
MPI kicks off the annual feature lab project THE RAIN again this coming March. MPI students will have the opportunity to train alongside industry professionals hired in as key crew members. This particular segment of the production will have the unique experience of being shot in the 4k digital format using the NEW RED Digital Cinema Camera - the RED ONE.
This segment of the rain, written by Kurt Mayry and directed by Douglas Schulze, features a story centered around a college student, Cari Lumis, who is suddenly overcome by a mysterious illness while at school. She rushes home in search of a cure only to find that she has inherited a long standing curse imposed on her hometown by a hat. To her horror she is faced with the only thing that will remedy the sickness, killing her younger brother.
The Rain is being produced by Dead Wait Productions LLC in conjunction with MPI of Michigan Inc. and the feature lab course.
