THE
RAIN
MPI Feature Lab Production
THE MPI FEATURE LAB project "THE RAIN" completed post production last month. Clocking in at roughly 48 minutes this film is a throw back to traditional horror filmmaking with strong character development and practical effects.
"The Rain" is one chapter in a triology of short stories called "The Rain Chronicles". The Chronicles span over more than a century and follows an ancient native american curse that has befallen a rural farming community.
In this segment of triology a farmer unearths an old top hat on his property. And with it an ancient Indian curse that lays waste to all the farmers crops and wells. All of the adults of the farming community are afflicted by a strange sickness that slowly dries them up until they are dust. It is only when the farmer communes with the hat does he find what it is that will save them all. He must sacrifice his three daughters for the curse to be lifted.
