TECHNO
Marco Aluia
In 2003 Detroit, Michigan was the host city of one of the most important
dance music event in the world. A free three-day event attended
by a million people each year integrating musical and visual artistry,
creativity, diversity and state-of-the-art technology. Over 70 world-renowned
acts performed on multiple stages in the heart of the Motor City
each Memorial Day weekend. The Movement Festival dedicates each
year to show casting the world’s most important and influential
musical artists and cutting edge talent while maintaining allegiance
to the history. In the course of filming his feature film, 313 Techno,
Detroit independent filmmaker Marco Aluia captures the passion,
struggles and triumph of local Detroit artists in regaining control
of Detroit’s electronic Music Festival, known worldwide as
Movement. Bear witness and be inspired by this unique shortened
version documentary film experience, Movement. Performances include:
Amp Fiddler, Buzz Goree of Underground Resistance, Juan Atkins,
Kevin Saunderson & Kenny Larkin four turntable set, and Stacey
Pullen.
