The MPI Path to a Career
The recently revised Michigan film incentive has put the local film industry back on track. Numerous indigenous productions as well as out of state films are taking advantage of this. This offers opportunties to work and train on independent and Hollywood films here in Michigan.
Over the last several years MPI grads have worked a majority of the films that have shot in Michigan. This includes "Oz the Great and Powerful", "Real Steal", "The Ides of March", "Red Dawn" and many others. Other MPI grads such as Sam Kadi (The Citizen) and Rola Nashef (Detroit Unleaded) have been able to produce and direct their own independent features.
MPI Career Services
MPI offers job placement assistance to all our graduates either here in Michigan or aboard. MPI has graduates who have or are working in New York, North Carolina, Louisiana, Georgia, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. Our goal is to get grads on set and in paid positions.
Gear For Grads Program
MPI has become known for its support of graduate productions by offerig school facilities, equipment and producing support. MPI grads who have earned their certificate have access school equipment for their own productions. The goal is to help fledgling directors, cinematographers, writers and editors build their reels and/or produce an indie feature that will jump start their career.
