Pursue A Career In Acting and Filmmaking
Our one of a kind program was designed to give students all of the necessary skills to become a filmmaker. Our hands-on curriculum has students writing, producing, directing, and editing numerous film projects throughout the year. This experiences enables students to make informative decisions on where to specialize their filmmaking careers.
Drama School Daily Life
Every student goes through the entire filmmaking process from script to screen where they write, produce, direct, shoot and edit numerous film projects throughout the school year.
Each course builds on their ideas. Each assignment crafts their visions into real films. Coming to class is like going to work. But work that the student is passionate about. Learning the entire process encourages each student to explore their film interests so they may find their creative voice and develop talent in their chosen area of expertise.
Every semester each student works on each other's films in a variety of crew positions.
This practical experience gives them the opportunity to improve their skills in camera, lighting, audio and other production trades. At the end, they will have compiled enough content to produce a valuable reel of their work.

The Motion Picture Acting Program trains actors how to prepare for a role in film or television.
Students perform on actual film sets and in front of the camera while discovering the acting style that works for them. Students learn on set etiquette, the do's and don'ts, casting calls and understanding the business of film acting. Students graduate with a featured role in a short film, additional material for a demo reel, a head shot, and ready to audition.

Frequently Asked Questions about our Drama School Services
Q: What funding options do you have?
A: For the Motion Picture Production Program we offer in-house payment plans up to 30 months for domestic students, up to 4 months for international students. Students must fill out a payment plan application to apply for approval. We also accept every major credit card. We DO NOT take Pell grants, Stafford loans, FSFA or Title IV funding. Other sources of funding include crowd funding sites where students can set up a funding raising campaign and look for donors to fund their tuition. See the financing page for a list of sites.
Q: Other programs require that I buy my own equipment, do I have to buy equipment for this program?
A: No. MPI has all the equipment students need to shoot their film projects. Students shoot their thesis films using Red Digital Cinema Cameras that include Ravens, Scarlets and the original Red One. This includes film and digital cameras, lens packages, follow focuses, matte boxes & filters, AC kits, camera support like sliders, jibs and tripods, light kits, grip and electric gear, and sound. The school also has a dedicated computer lab running Adobe Premiere, AVID, Sony Vegas, Adobe After Effects, Davinci, Lightworks and Movie Magic Scheduling and Budgeting software.
Students are free to use school equipment or if they prefer to use their own personal equipment for certain assignments they may do so.
