MPI EQUIPMENT

CAMERAS

MPI has an extensive variety of 16mm, Hi-Definition and 35mm cameras. Certified Production Lab 3 students may check out any of these camera systems for shooting thesis film projects.

Camera systems come with various accessories including additional magazines, batteries, video assists, follow focus units, matteboxes, filters, and eyepiece extensions.

Each camera comes with an Assistant Camera kit that features changing bags, slates, gray cards, digital light meters, lens solution, tape measures, stopwatches, markers, camera tape, maglites, brushes and scissors.

MPI also rents additional equipment for the program for student training. Such equipment has included Arri 35 BLIV, Arri 535 and other systems. This year MPI will be training PL3 students on the RED digital camera system.

SUPPORT

Camera support includes Bogen Manfrotto 3147 fluid head tripods with 100mm bowls, baby sticks and hi-hats. Students also have access to 8ft mini-jibs for HD cameras and skateboard dollies for use on PVC or metal track.

LIGHTING

MPI has a variety of portable Arri-light kits. Light kits contain anywhere from three to four lights ranging from 300watt fresnels to 1000k fresnels. Accessories include stands, scrims, gel frames, chimeras w/eggcrates, and spare bulbs.

Students may check out grip equipment that includes C-stands, reflectors, pigeon plates, extension cords, gels, sandbags and a variety of clamps.
