Q: What is the class schedule like?
A: Students select one of three sessions to attend for the year. These sessions are Mornings (9am-1pm), Afternoons (2pm-6pm) or Evenings (6:30pm-10:30pm). Classes are held three days per week, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the first, third and fifth semesters. And four days a week in the second semester (Monday thru Thursdays).
Q: What funding options do you have?
A: MPI offers in house payment plans up to 24 months for in state students, up to 12 months for out of state and up to 4 months for international students. Students must fill out a payment plan application to apply for approval. We also accept every major credit card. We DO NOT take Pell grants, Stafford loans, FSFA or Title IV funding.
Q: Do graduates have access to school equipment?
A: YES! Graduates who have earned their certificate and are in good standing with the school can access equipment for graduate projects. Projects must be directed by MPI grads or must be for a cinematographer's reel if not. There is a $25.00 per project fee with a limitation of up to five shooting days per project and up to three reshoot days for an additional $25.00. For more information contact MPI offices.
Q: How hard is it to get in the program?
A: MPI receives more applications each year than there are available seats. Acceptance into the program is competitive. MPI reviews each application and supporting material carefully. The film industry is a demanding field. MPI evaluates applicants for creativity, entrepreneurship, social networking skills, commitment and passion. MPI administrators look closely at the writing samples for grammar, mechanics, and at the supporting materials for imagination.
