Welcome to The Motion Picture Institute!

The Motion Picture Institute (MPI) is a film school with a  carefully designed program that trains students in the fundamental arts and sciences of motion picture production. The Motion Picture Institute (MPI) isn't simply a series of "how to" workshops. MPI is a network of instructors, peers, professionals, and resources for aspiring filmmakers to produce their films even beyond graduation. The Motion Picture Institute is also by far one of the most affordable film schools in the country. Students come from all over the United States to attend MPI.

Scream 4, Up In The Air, Harold & Kumar, Whip It, Red Dawn, You Don't Know Jack, Gran Torino... to name a few

Audience participation is encouraged! You'll also have the opportunity to take a tour of our facility and discuss financing options.

Your MPI Education Can Now Be Applied Towards a Bachelor's Degree at Madonna University & Lawrence Technological University

After earning a certificate of completion from MPI, our graduates can apply what they learned here towards a Bachelor of Science of Media Communication degree at Lawrence Tech or Madonna University. The MPI program replaces approximately one year or 21 credit hours. Click here to view the articulation agreement.
